CM said that in all the districts where Chhath Puja is celebrated on a large scale. In all those districts, the District Magistrate can declare a holiday at his level.
Varanasi: A large number of devotees throng the Ganga Ghats in Kashi on the occasion of Chhath Puja. In such a situation, yesterday i.e. on Wednesday, District Magistrate Kaushal Raj Sharma has ordered the closure of all recognized Hindi, English schools from class 1 to 8.
Chhath Puja 2021 : CM gave instructions in video conferencing
In view of Chhath festival on Monday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had declared a public holiday on 10 November. CM said that in all the districts where Chhath Puja is celebrated on a large scale. In all those districts, the District Magistrate can declare a holiday at his level. In view of this, the Chief Minister held a meeting with many DMs in video conferencing late on Monday and gave instructions to them. Today i.e. on Tuesday, Varanasi DM has issued an order to close all the schools from class 1 to 8 in the city on the instructions of CM Yogi.
Lakhs of devotees reach Kashi
Yogi Adityanath said that Dev Deepawali is organized in Varanasi on Kartik Purnima. This is a big event, in which lakhs of devotees and tourists come to visit Ganga Ghat. Considering the importance of Kashi, special vigilance should be taken on Dev Deepawali. Along with cleanliness, security, lighting, social distancing system in public in fairs will also be taken care of. Arrangements will also be made for awareness regarding corona infection. He said that in view of the festivals and fairs, the District Magistrate, Superintendent of Police, Divisional Commissioner at the divisional level, IG Range and DIG Range should review all these.
