Hanuman Jayanti : Namakkal Anjaneyar was felicitated today on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanthi.
Famous in Namakkal is Sri Anjaneyar Sami. Srinamakkal Anjaneyar Sami Kaikuppi, 18 feet high with a single stone, is worshiped. Every year in the month of March, Anjaneyar’s birthday, which falls on the original star of the new moon, is celebrated with much fanfare as Hanuman Jayanti. Accordingly, Hanuman Jayanti is being celebrated all over Tamil Nadu today.
1,00,008 Vadamalas were offered to Namakkal Anjaneyar and special poojas were performed. The Anjaneyar, who was subsequently adorned, appeared before the devotees at 5 am today. Hindu Charities Minister Sekar Babu, Tourism Minister Dr. Mathivendan and State Councilor Rajesh Kumar were present on the occasion.
Many people including Collector Srayasingh, legislators Ramalingam and Ponnusamy were present. Devotees are constantly waiting in long queues to pay homage to the Anjaneyas. Only devotees wearing masks as a corona prevention measure were allowed to darshan.
Namakkal: On the eve of Anjaneyar Jayanti, Namakkal Anjaneyar Swami blessed the devotees with one lakh and eight North Hills ornaments. Rajesh Kumar, MLAs Ramalingam, Ponnusamy, Collector Shreya Singh among others participated.
Sri Hanuman Jayanti festival is to be held at Sri Dhanwantari Health Faculty with Amavasaya Yagam. On Sunday before New Moon and Hanuman Jayanti from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm there is Sri Sudarsana Homam, Sri Dhanyavantri Homam, Sri Arogya Lakshmi Homam, Sri Sukta Homam, Hanumant Homam and . There is also a special anointing for Sri Sanjeevi Anjaneyar and Senthura Anjaneyar dedicated here, as well as butter, wada garland, tulsi garland, fruit garland, betel garland, lemon fruit garland and flower garland sarti pushpanjali.
