31 October:-New Delhi. Historical Monument of Iron Man: The world’s tallest ‘Statue of Unity’, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 31, 2018, at 182 meters (597 feet), is not just a statue. Sadhu Bet, at a distance of 3.2 km from Sardar Sarovar Dam, has become the place which defines the Iron Man of our country exactly according to his personality.
Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the country’s Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister, had executed the astonishing but determined integration of 562 princely states with India. For the construction of his statue, work was done according to the same spirit.

Assassination of a Prime Minister: This date will also be remembered for the assassination of the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Indira Gandhi, a woman Prime Minister with fearless decisions, is remembered for giving a befitting reply to Pakistan and the creation of Bangladesh.
Along with this, the strangulation of democracy in the country on their part also cannot be forgotten. Due to his decision, from June 25, 1975, the whole country was in the clutches of dictatorship for about 19 months. However, it will not be possible to forget even on October 31, 1984, because this Prime Minister was shot dead by his own bodyguards.
Indira Gandhi had carried out military action to drive out terrorists from the Golden Temple, the place of worship of Sikhs in Amritsar, to end the growing terrorism in the name of Khalistan. This was the reason for his murder.
