Batting coach Das said before the second ODI, “We are expecting a good start from the top order and the middle order has worked hard in the last few seasons, we have some plans.” I think the team will play differently in tomorrow’s match. ‘

Team India hopes for a good start from the openers
Shivsunder Das said, ‘We have Shefali (Verma) and Smriti. I am positive they will get us off to a good start and once we add 60-70 runs in the first 10 overs, we can continue that momentum in the middle overs. The Indian team had set a target of more than 250 runs but the team could not do it once again. The team scored 225 for eight in 50 overs in the first ODI but the batting coach said the Mithali Raj-led side has a plan for the second match to keep the scoreboard moving.

Das said, “We are working on this aspect of the game, we are hoping to start well. In the middle overs, we want to average five runs and in the end we will try to score six runs per over. This is our plan. After the dismissal of openers Mandhana and Shefali in the first six overs, the Indian team was seen struggling in the batting.

Das said, ‘We are still working on scoring runs by running between the wickets in the middle overs. It continues, we have some young batsmen in our team, we have to give them some time and once they get used to the conditions they will definitely bat aggressively. Mandhana continued to struggle with the bat in this format and the left-handed batsman added only 16 runs in the first ODI. She has been able to score more than 50 runs only once in the last nine matches but Das is confident that she will give India the strong start they need. “I spoke to Mandhana and we have worked on her in the last two seasons, we have sorted out the issues, she is a world class player and we are supporting her ability to score runs and of course we Will see the difference in tomorrow’s match. ‘
