IOS 16 Release Time and Date:-Apple announced its new iPhone 14 series at the Far Out event on September 7. The new iPhone 14 series, except for the iPhone 14 Plus, will go on sale starting September 16 in India. Apple, at the event, also confirmed that iOS 16 will roll out on September 12. The new iPhone software update will be rolled out to all eligible devices in India and other markets.
The company did not reveal the exact time of the iOS 16 release. However, based on the previous rollout timelines, it is safe to say that Apple will release the update late in the evening for users in India.
When will iOS 16 Release for iPhone Users in India?
Apple will release the new iOS 16 update for iPhone users on September 12. The company did not reveal the time but the new iOS update is expected to roll out at 10.30 pm IST. Apple, in the past, has released a new software update for the iPhone in India at 10.30 pm. We can expect the same for the upcoming iOS update.
That being said, there have been instances when the update was released later than usual. For instance, iOS 14 was released at 1 pm PT on September 16, 2020, whereas users in India got the update at 1.30 am on September 17, 2020. This is three hours later than the usual release time. However, iOS 15 and some of the recently released iOS updates were rolled out to users at 10.30 pm IST every year.
There is no official word on the timing and therefore, while one can speculate, there is no assurance of the new iOS update rolling out at 10.30 pm IST.
Users, meanwhile, can start preparing to download and install iOS 16 by taking a backup of their data on the iPhone. It is also worth noting that the update might take some time to download and install initially since many users are likely to be updating their iPhones to the latest software on the evening of the rollout.
Which iPhone models will get the new iOS update?
Apple has already confirmed the list of devices getting the new iOS 16 update. The iPhone 14 series will come with the new update out of the box. As expected, the iPhone 13 series and the iPhone 12 series will also get the new iOS update. This means that the iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 mini and the iPhone 12 Pro Max will get the upcoming iOS update. In addition to this, the iPhone 8 series, iPhone X, iPhone XR, iPhone 11 series and some other models will also get the new iOS update.
