Lakhimpur Kheri : Uttar Pradesh, Oct 11 (PTI): The Uttar Pradesh court today ordered Ashish Mishra, son of Union Minister Ajay Mishra, to be detained for three days in connection with the violence at Lakhimpur Kheri in Uttar Pradesh.
Ashish Mishra was arrested on Saturday and sent to 14 days judicial custody in connection with the Lakhimpur Khari violence case. He has been charged with several offenses, including murder and criminal conspiracy, in connection with the violence. Eight people, including four farmers, were killed in the October 3 violence in protest against the center’s new agricultural laws.
Ashish Mishra, son of Union Minister Ajay Mishra, has been given a three-day police custody. Four people were killed when a car crashed into a crowd of protesting farmers from the back of the Lakhimpur Kheri. Ashish Mishra, son of Union Minister Ajay Mishra, is said to be in the car.
The violence in central Uttar Pradesh last week in Lakhimpur Kheri, in protest against agrarian laws passed by the central government, left eight people dead. Four of the dead are farmers. Ashish Mishra, who attended yesterday’s hearing, did nothing wrong. He argued that he had never been to the scene. However, the SIT team arrested him after a lengthy 12-hour interrogation. After Ashish Mishra’s medical check-up at the crime branch office, he was produced before a judicial magistrate.
