Telugu film superstar Vijay Deverakonda and Bollywood actress Ananya Panday’s pan India film ‘Liger’ was one of the much awaited films this year. The audience had high expectations from the film as the film directed by Puri Jagannath marked Vijay’s debut in Bollywood while Ananya was making her debut in the South. But the film was released in theaters on August 25, leaving the audience disappointed and the result was that ‘Liger’ was badly beaten at the box office. But now the film is all set to release on OTT.
Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Pandey’s film ‘Liger’ is now going to release on OTT soon after falling flat at the box office. The film, which hit theaters on August 25, is being released today i.e. on 22 September 2022 on the OTT platform ‘Disney + Hotstar’. Like cinemas, ‘Liger’ is also releasing on the OTT platform in four languages, which include Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada and Tamil languages.
While Vijay Deverakonda made his film debut in Bollywood with this action packed film, Ananya made her South debut with this. Vijay plays a stammer boxer in the film and Ananya is seen as his lover. Directed by Puri Jagannadh, the film was released in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada languages in India and abroad. It is a sports drama film directed by Puri Jagannath.
‘Liger’ was a smash at the box office. The sports drama, which released on August 25, has not earned up to 50 per cent of its cost. Made on a budget of Rs 125 crore, the makers were expecting a good performance from the Telugu version of Liger before its release. But, Vijay Deverakonda’s film flopped not only in North but also in South. This was the reason that more than 90 per cent of the Karan Johar-produced film shows were canceled across India. After earning a bang at the box office on the first day, its business kept falling. Apart from Vijay and Ananya, Ramya Krishnan is also going to be seen playing an important role in ‘Liger’. Along with this, Mike Tyson will also be seen doing a cameo in the film.
