Maharashtra Colleges: Hostels of all universities and colleges will also remain closed during this period. This decision has been taken in view of the increasing corona infection. Higher and Technical Education Minister Uday Samant announced this after an important meeting on Wednesday.


All universities and affiliated colleges in Maharashtra have been closed till February 15. Meanwhile, studies and examinations will be done through online mode. Hostels of all universities and colleges will also remain closed during this period. This decision has been taken in view of the increasing corona infection. Higher and Technical Education Minister Uday Samant announced this after an important meeting on Wednesday.

On 3 October 2021, the state government decided to start offline classes in colleges. Students who had taken both doses of the vaccine were allowed to come to college. But for the last few days, once again the corona infection (Corona in maharashtra) started increasing at a fast pace. Along with Corona, the infection of the new variant of Corona, Omicron, is also increasing rapidly. Keeping this in mind, it was decided to close all the universities and colleges in the state.

Order applies to private colleges too, only agriculture university is exempted


Announcing this decision, Uday Samant said that this order will be applicable till February 15. This will be applicable in all universities including private colleges as well. Only agricultural universities and colleges will remain open. Meanwhile, studies and examinations will be online. If any student is not able to give the exam due to any reason, then their year is not spoiled, so that the Vice Chancellors have been instructed to make arrangements.

Keeping in view the problems of internet in Gondwana, Nanded, Jalgaon University, it has been allowed to take the exam in offline mode if required. Instructions have been given to start a helpline for registering complaints of college and university students.

Foreign students will be allowed to stay in hostels


Hostels of all universities and colleges will remain closed during this period. But students from other countries will be allowed to stay in the hostel taking care of all the precautions. Students and employees of the university and college who have not been vaccinated, have been instructed to inform the District Magistrate. Polytechnic students have also been advised to get the vaccination done early.

The drawing examination of class 10th will also be taken through online mode. Despite being taken in class 10th, this examination comes under the jurisdiction of the Higher and Technical Education Department. It has been instructed to keep 50 percent attendance of teaching and non-teaching staff in universities and colleges. It has been suggested to rotate the shift.
