Omicron variant: The central government has written a letter to the state government asking it to take precautionary measures. Some suggestions have been issued to the states in this regard.
Omicron variant Center direct to State: Precautionary measures are being taken around the world after the discovery of a new variant of the corona virus, Omicron. India has started taking these precautionary measures. Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan has written a letter to the Chief Secretaries of all the states instructing them to prevent the spread of Omicron.
States have been instructed to monitor international travelers. The Center has instructed the states to monitor all international travelers, to get details of their international travels in the past. States have been instructed to send samples for genome sequencing to prompt INSACOG labs for travelers from countries at risk of infection.
In some states, the number of total tests as well as RT-PCR tests has come down. The names of those states were not mentioned in the Centre’s letter. However, in some states, fewer tests are being conducted, the letter said. States have been clearly instructed to strengthen the infrastructure for testing and to strictly implement the test guidelines.
Covid has been asked to monitor the hotspot. The hotspot is constantly monitored. The Center has directed that samples of those found positive should be sent to INSACOG laboratory for genome sequencing. In addition, the number of RT-PCR tests should be increased.
