Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan on Friday expanded his “heartiest Onam good tidings” to individuals of the state and other Keralites everywhere. “I pass on my heartiest Onam good tidings to individuals of the state and other Keralites everywhere,” the Governor tweeted. Khan, in a progression of tweets said the festival of Onam revives the amazing tradition of an existence of uniformity, unity and flourishing.
“The festival of Onam revives the awe inspiring tradition of an existence of fairness, unity and success, filling psyches and homes with the heavenly delight of merriment. I earnestly wish that the song, excellence and shimmer of Onam spread across the globe as Kerala’s exceptional message of affection, correspondence and amicability,” Khan said.
Keralites across the world on Saturday will commend the Onam, a celebration associated with the arrival of Asura (evil spirit) King Mahabali, under whose reign everybody lived in satisfaction and uniformity.
As per legends, desirous of his prominence, the Devas (Gods) looked for the assistance of Lord Vishnu to get him ousted into the underworld however prior to going down, Mahabali tied down a help from Vishnu to visit his subjects each year on ‘Thiruvonam’ day, which this year falls on August 21.
