September 25 : Today is Sarva Pitru Amavasya, also known as Sarva Pitri Darsha Amavasya. Because on this day the souls of the ancestors are freed from the cycle of life and death by performing Shraddha and Pindaan. They get salvation. Today is the last day of Pitru Paksha. Pitru Paksha ends on All Pitru Amavasya. On this day, taking a bath in the holy river and offering pindadaan-naivedya to the ancestors and giving daan-dakshina will earn merit. Jyotishacharya of Central Sanskrit University, Puri has given information about the work to be done on All Pitru Amavasya.

Amavasya starts on: Today, 03:12 AM
Amavasya ends on: Tomorrow, at 03:23 AM.
Sarvarth Siddhi Yoga : Today is a full day.
Sarva Pitru Amavasya : By this act the ancestors attain moksha.
- On this day tarpan, pinda dan and shraddha of all our known and unknown ancestors should be done.
- By performing Shraddha-Karma today your ancestors will be blessed by Yama. They will be freed from Yamaloka and will enter the path of salvation.
- These works done by your children will please the ancestors and bless them, which will lead to the prosperity of your family. Happiness and peace will come. There will be progress in job and business.
- Food, charity, dakshina should be given to Brahmins for Pitras on all Pitru Amavasyas.
- By doing the above works Pidrodosh is removed. If Pidro Dosh remains, incurable diseases, problems, disputes, failures etc. continue to occur.
