Tokyo paralympics 2021 : India won two more medals in the Paralympics javelin throw. Devendra Jharia, a Rajasthani javelin thrower, won silver while Sundar Singh Gurjar won a bronze medal in the men’s F-46 category. 40-year-old Devendra Ballem was second with a throw of 64.35 meters and 25-year-old Sundar Singh was third with a throw of 64.01 meters. Devendra is the third medalist in the Paralympics. Devendra won gold medals at the 2004 Athens Paralympics and the 2016 Rio Paralympics.
Disappointment for entertainment

Sumit Antil from Sonipat in Haryana was a normal boy till 2015. However, he lost his left hand in a road accident then. With this, he is living on a prosthetic leg. Inspired by a para athlete from his village, Sumit turned his attention to athletics. He started his career as a javelin player and trained hard. Since then he has competed in several national and international tournaments since 2018. He won the Silver medal at the 2019 World Championships in Dubai.

Indian athlete Yogesh Katunia wins silver in men’s discus throw F-56 The 24-year-old Yogesh, who made his debut in the Paralympics, finished second by throwing a discus 44.38 meters in the final sixth attempt. Claudine Batista (Brazil – 45.59 m) won gold and Leonardo Diaz (Cuba – 43.36 m) won bronze. On the other hand, Indian shooter Swaroop Unhalkar finished fourth in the men’s 10m air rifle SH-1 category and clinched the bronze medal. Swaroop from Maharashtra scored 203.9 points.
