UIDAI Lok Sabha news : Linking Aadhar with Voter ID (Voter ID) will solve the problem of large number of counterfeit voters in the country
New Delhi: A bill linking the Voter ID Card with the Aadhar Card was tabled in the Lok Sabha today. Law and Justice Minister Kiran Rijiju presented the Electoral Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2021, despite opposition from opposition parties. The bill was passed by voice vote.
UIDAI Lok Sabha news : If Aadhaar is added to the voter list, it will be a violation of the constitutional rights of citizens. Congress, AIMIM, BSP and other opposition parties opposed the bill, saying it would violate the rights of voters. The ruling party demanded the withdrawal of the bill.
However, Minister Rijiju, who declined the demands of the Opposition, said that the various proposals that are part of the bill have already been recommended by the Standing Committee on Law and Personnel. He claimed that the bill would cleanse the electoral system
However, only the opposition refused and protested in the House. The House Speaker adjourned the House tomorrow to create a noisy atmosphere.
Reduce illegal voter registration
The Union Cabinet had earlier approved the electoral reforms bill. The bill included the matter of making the voter’s card with Aadhaar. It allows Election Registration Officers to ask for Aadhaar numbers from persons already included in the voter list for the purpose of authentication of entries in the voter list. Also, it refuses to register the same person’s name on the voter list more than once.
Aadhaar link is not mandatory
The bill does not deny any petition to include a name in the voter list. When a person refuses to provide or inform the Aadhaar number it is clear that no entries in the voter list are deleted. Allowing to provide sufficient cause or other alternative documents as may be prescribed.
Solution to the problem of counterfeit voters

Link only if voter permits
The Electoral Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2021, was tabled in Parliament today after the Cabinet approved it last week. To avoid the trouble of having too many registrations in different places of the same person.
